ABOUT ME
Kristina Vatova is visual artist based in Bulgaria. She works primarily in painting, combining realism, surrealism, and conseptual realism. Her practice is centered in development of concept-driven exhibitions that address social, psychological, and contemporary issues, often exploring the relationship between the individual and broader societal context.
She was born in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. She completed her secondary art education at the National High School of Fine Arts "Tsanko Lavrenov" in Plovdiv. In 2012, she participated in the Erasmus exchange program at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, Belgium. She holds both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Fine Arts from the National Art Academy in Sofia.
Her works has been presented in multiple solo exhibitions in Bulgaria and she regularly takes part in group exhibitions both nationally and internationally. Since 2016, she has been a member of Union of Bulgarian Artists. Through a combination of figurative imagery and conceptual frameworks, her work seeks to engage viewers in reflection on contemporary human experience and the conditions that shape it.
